Wheat leaf senescence and its regulatory gene network
نویسندگان
چکیده
Wheat leaf senescence is a developmental process that involves expressional changes in thousands of genes ultimately impact grain protein content (GPC), yield (GY), and nitrogen use efficiency. The onset rate are strongly influenced by plant hormones environmental factors e.g. availability. At maturity, decrease uptake could enhance N remobilization from leaves stem to grain, eventually leading senescence. Early related high GPC somewhat low whereas late often GPC. or principally regulated up down-regulation associated genes. Integration external internal together with genotypic variation influence age dependent manner. Although regulation involved has been studied rice, Arabidopsis, maize, currently wheat, there genotype-specific variations yet explore. A major effort needed understand the interaction positive negative regulators determining In increasing attention paid role regulator, GPC-1, gene network during early time course. Recently, regulatory course revealed important regulators. However, known regulator TaNAC-S not extensively wheat little about its value breeding. Existing data on senescence-related transcriptome studies effectively be used for functional study developing efficient varieties.

Modeling Leaf Production and Senescence in Wheat
A major component in a crop growth model is leaf area development, which has a major influence on photosynthesis and transpiration. The knowledge about the leaf area development of wheat especially in high temperature environments is incomplete. The aim of this study was to quantify leaf production and senescence of 15 spring wheat cultivars. Field experiments were conducted at the research far...

this experiment was conducted to quantify leaf production and senescence in wheat. the experiment was carried out at research farm of the gorgan university of agricultural sciences and natural resources, gorgan, iran in 2005 using a randomized complete design considering sowing dates as environment. treatments were sowing date (14 december, 20 jan and 21 feb, 2005) and cultivars (aria, atrak, k...
متن کاملIrrigation methods affect wheat flag leaf senescence and chlorophyll fluorescence in the North China Plain
The water resource shortage in North China Plain is an increasing threat to the sustainabilityof wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production. A two-year field experiment was conducted toexamine the effects of two supplemental irrigation (SI) methods on wheat flag leaf senescence, chlorophyll fluorescence and grain yield. The following field treatments were conducted:no irrigation (W0); SI with 60 mm...
متن کاملCharacterization of an ethylene receptor homologue from wheat and its expression during leaf senescence.
A wheat ethylene receptor homologue (W-er1) was isolated from a wheat stem cDNA library using the Arabidopsis ETR1 cDNA as a probe. The predicted amino acid sequence of W-er1 is over 70% similar to ERS1 from Arabidopsis and exhibits homology to bacterial two-component response regulators within the histidine kinase domain. Northern hybridization demonstrated that W-er1 was expressed in stem, le...

Leaf senescence is a finely tuned and genetically programmed degeneration process, which is critical to maximize plant fitness by remobilizing nutrients from senescing leaves to newly developing organs. Leaf senescence is a complex process that is driven by extensive reprogramming of global gene expression in a highly coordinated manner. Understanding how gene regulatory networks involved in co...
